XEIAD is a civil engineering consultancy specialising in difficult access. We are engineers with extensive experience in rope access, diving and confined spaces. We have also developed the use of Remotely Operated Aerial Vehicles (ROAVs) to complement our inspection procedures. We undertake a wide range of Inspections, Assessments, Surveys, Non-Destructive Testing & Intrusive Investigations, Design and Project Management. We also launched, in October 2017, our Infrastructure Services division to support Asset Owners and Principal Contractors with specialist access maintenance and repairs.
Our teams have a unique experience inspecting structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels and shafts working across a wide range of industry sectors: We help asset owners and managers keep critical infrastructure safe, reduce risk and maintenance costs as well as extend asset life.
Our principal areas of operation include;
- Transportation (Rail, Airports and Highway)
- Petrochemical (Gas and Oil, Chemical and other complex industrial infrastructure)
- Renewable (Wind, Solar and Hydro-Electric)
- Utilities (Water and Telecoms)
- Marine (Ports and Harbours, Wind Turbine Parks)
- Central & Local Government (MOD, County & City Councils, Trust Organisations)
We are continuously recruiting engineers and technicians with specialist access skills and invest in their development. We seek to develop both their engineering competencies and their difficult access skills. Most engineers are cross trained in diving, confined spaces and/or rope access. As part of our innovation drive, we have invested in the development of our proposition for the use of remotely operated aerial vehicles (ROAVs) to support inspection operations across a wide variety of complex infrastructure. This follows existing process innovation using underwater sonar technology to reduce risk and increase accuracy of underwater inspections.
As a full member of the Association of Diving Contractors, and registered with the HSE to undertake UK inshore and inland diving operations, and operating under the IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) ICoP we provide professionally qualified and experienced civil and structural engineers, trained in commercial surface supply diving, difficult access inspection, confined space operations incorporating full breathing apparatus for hostile conditions and rope access for a number of applications.
We offer cost effective access solutions to our clients, always seeking to improve processes to maintain the highest degree of safety and efficiency. We can access most structures using ropes, diving or confined spaces techniques and also remotely operated aerial vehicles.
